Four ways you can gain more listings and grow your real estate business.
Getting more listings is the livelihood of a real estate agent, but sometimes it’s easy to get into a rut. Certain markets are harder or slower than others, and it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness and forget about prospecting and networking. I completely understand. That’s why I’m here today with a list of four ways to get more real estate business. Here are the four best ways to get more listings:
1. Work with your SOI. If you don’t already know, SOI stands for sphere of influence, and this is the group of people that you already know and have a relationship with. It could include family, friends, some past clients, old coworkers, etc. You can ask them for referrals; just remember to do something for them in return. You could host events, be their source of real estate news and education, have a giveaway with prizes, etc. You’ll get more referrals from people when they know they can feel good about you and your business.
2. Consider different forms of marketing and farming. The options for this are endless. Overall, it’s important to have a presence online and in person. You could create flyers, send direct mail to a specific demographic or location, send emails every other week or every month, pay for ads on social media, and so much more. Market your real estate business to a carefully selected geographic area.
“Getting more listings requires intentionality and drive.”
3. Contact FSBOs and expired listings. Using FSBOs, or for-sale-by-owner listings, is an easy and effective way to gain leads. However, they’re often in that state because they had some sort of obstacle or problem, so you should be prepared to tackle a variety of issues and roadblocks. The same is true with expired listings. These may require extra work, but you can show people that you work hard and get the job done.
4. Go above and beyond. Sometimes gaining that extra listing just requires a little hard work or a personal touch. Figure out what makes you stand out, and lean into that. You could host parties or networking events, start a podcast, show support to a local charity, etc. Go the extra mile for potential clients, and show people that you’re the one to turn to. When people know they can trust you, you’ll get more listings.
Overall, getting more listings requires intentionality and drive, so make sure you have those things, and you will have success.
